'Best act we've had in Afghanistan' -
SGT Andrew Spencer, forces welfare BSN 2012
As well as performing at bases across the UK, Nick has had 7 tours of Afghanistan, with shows at all main bases and many FOBs. He is the only comic to have performed for both CSE (the MOD's entertainment contractor) and BFF (the troop welfare charity). In addition he was chosen to host the BIG SALUTE (forces' radio's gala event for 5 military charities), was compere for the first Akrotiri military family festival, and was headline comic for the Birmingham Military Hospital's celebration event for over 1500 people.
He's as comfortable performing to 3000 in an open air arena in camp Bastion as he is at a dinner for cavalry officers or pilots, and his style translates to both equally.
Nick was awarded the Operational Service Medal for his work in Afghanistan (This is only awarded to Troops and Contractors for working in the field of operations for repeated tours) and had the honour of being the last comic to perform for British Troops in Camp Bastion, and the First comic to perform at the International Military Academy at Qargha, where he received a letter of Commendation from the American General, and from the British and Allied Commanding Officer.
The last 2 years have seen him perform in the Falklands, Poland, Estonia and Cyprus, as well as hosting the Royal Engineers centenary festival for over 12000 people.
